OANDA Accuses StoneX of Infringing Trading-Data Patents

Currency data and trading company OANDA Corp. sued competing financial services network StoneX Group Inc. in Chicago federal court Wednesday for allegedly infringing three patents covering innovations related to data for high-frequency trading.

OANDA told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that its founders created the online currency-trading platform fxTrade, which uses the patented technology. The patents include methods for processing, integrating, and filtering financial data from different sources in real time and using it to provide trade recommendations.
