NYC Democrats Sue to Halt Vote on Banning Them From Party Roles

The Manhattan Democratic Party is being sued by a group of district leaders, including US Rep. Adriano Espaillat, to prevent approval of a report that would ban Espaillat and the other plaintiffs from serving as local party leaders for 10 years.

Espaillat, Assemblymember Manny De Los Santos, and two other district leaders filed a petition Monday asking the New York County Supreme Court to temporarily halt the New York County Democratic Committee’s Thursday vote on the report, which was approved by the committee’s ethics panel in February.
