Nvidia Illegally Scraped YouTube Videos for AI, Suit Says (1)

Nvidia Corp. scraped millions of YouTube videos without the consent of creators to train and develop its AI model that generates video content, according to a new federal lawsuit.

Users have retained ownership rights in their uploaded videos and the “surreptitious, non-consensual” use and collection of their content violates YouTube’s terms of service, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The proposed class action is brought by David Millette, who sued OpenAI Inc. less than two weeks ago on similar claims.
