Nvidia Hit With Patent Suit Over GPU Products Used in AI Servers

A patent owner accused Nvidia Corp. of infringing patents with its GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip, used in servers that power artificial intelligence, and other processing products.

Nvidia graphical processing unit products infringe six patents protecting methods for a 3D semiconductor device and structure, MonolithIC 3D Inc. alleged in a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Monolithic said Nvidia uses the protected technology for “high bandwidth memory integrated circuits” in products that can be found in Quanta Computer Inc. servers.
