Nordstrom Resolves Patent Suit Over Mapping Mobile App Tech

Nordstrom Inc. has resolved a patent infringement dispute concerning mobile app features for mapping store locations.

Judge Rodney Gilstrap of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas dismissed Nearby Systems LLC’s lawsuit Tuesday after the patent owner and the retailer filed a stipulation. Nordstrom and Nearby Systems said each party will bear its own costs and attorneys’ fees.

• Nearby Systems filed suits against multiple companies in October in Texas federal court, including Nordstrom, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., and Shell USA Inc. The cases were later consolidated.
