Nokia, Sprint, Verizon Wins Over Wireless Network Patents Upheld

Nokia Oyj, Sprint Corp., and Verizon Communications Inc. are cleared of allegations that their products infringe wireless network patents owned by Traxcell Technologies LLC after the Federal Circuit affirmed two lower court rulings.

Traxcell sued the companies over U.S. Patent Nos. 8,977,284; 9,510,320; 9,642,024; and 9,549,388 on self-optimizing wireless networks and navigation technology. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found the wireless companies didn’t infringe, after construing various claims in the patents.
