Nokia Hit With Patent Suit Over 5G Base-Station Technology

XR Communications LLC sued Nokia of America Corp. accusing it of patent infringement through its 5G cellular network base stations.

Nokia’s base stations use wireless communications methods covered by five patents, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. XR Communications, doing business as Vivato Technologies, said Nokia encourages customers to infringe the patents by providing instructions and support services.

Nokia didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
