Nintendo Win Voids Most of Gamevice’s Asserted Patent Claims

Nintendo Co. convinced a federal judge to cancel all but one asserted claim from among three patents Gamevice Inc. alleges are infringed by the hand-held Nintendo Switch gaming console.

“All of the asserted claims that incorporate the term ‘computing device’ are not entitled to an earlier priority date, and they are thus invalid as anticipated by the Nintendo Switch,” Judge Richard Seeborg wrote in an opinion issued Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
