Nike Wins Pause in Sports Bra Dispute as It Challenges Patents

Nike Inc. convinced a federal judge to pause a lawsuit accusing it of infringing patented sports bras as the US Patent and Trademark Office decides whether to examine the patentability of a female entrepreneur’s designs.

The lawsuit between the athletic apparel giant and SherryWear LLC will be stayed pending a decision by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board on whether to investigate SherryWear’s patents, Judge Leo T. Sorokin said in a Tuesday order.
