Nike Settles Trademark Suit Against Rapper’s Company Gnarcotic

Nike Inc. reached a confidential settlement of its lawsuit alleging sneaker designs by rapper Lil Gnar’s clothing company, Gnarcotic LLC, infringe its trademarks.

As part of the settlement Nike and Gnarcotic asked the US District Court for the Central District of California Dec. 9 to approve a consent agreement acknowledging that Nike is the exclusive owner of the three registered trademarks at issue. The parties also asked the court to enter judgment against Gnarcotic on all of Nike’s counts in the complaint, and to issue an injunction barring further infringement.
