A Federal Circuit panel Wednesday parsed whether a golf club patent at issue in an infringement suit against
Saso Golf Inc., which owns U.S. Patent No. 5,645,495, challenged a one-sentence opinion from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Saso argued Nike failed to prove the patent was indefinite because it didn’t show that a person of skill in the art of making golf clubs wouldn’t be able to identify the parts of the club head described in the patent with reasonable certainty.
