Nike Claims Customized Shoes Counterfeit, Violate Trademark

Nike Inc. hit customized footwear company Drip Creationz with claims of selling counterfeit footwear and customized Nike Air Force 1 shoes without authorization.

Customs by Ilene Inc., doing business as Drip Creationz, advertises and sells many of its designs on what it purports to be “100% authentic” Nike Air Force 1 shoes, which are “in many instances” counterfeit, according to the complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

The California-based company is also violating Nike’s intellectual property rights through “customizations,” which are the core of its business, the complaint alleges.
