Nike Accuses Kiy of Ripping Off Air Jordans in Trademark Suit

Nike Inc. accused two companies of selling “knockoff” its Air Jordan 1s and Dunk sneaker models in a trademark suit in New York federal court.

The “near-verbatim copying” copying apparent in Kiy LLC and Reloaded Merch LLC’s Omi-branded shoes includes the shoe’s shape, shoe and sole patterns, and colors, Nike said in its complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Several shoes advertised by the “bad actors” are “virtually identical” aside from a lightning bolt replacing the Nike swoosh, Nike said.
