NFL’s Seahawks Defeat Contract, Antitrust Claims Over Trademarks

The Seattle Seahawks didn’t breach a trademark agreement with PBTM LLC or violate anti-monopoly laws by restricting PBTM’s use of team-related trademarks, a federal court in Seattle said.

PBTM owns a trademark covering Volume 12—which refers to the notoriously loud Seahawks game crowd, the 12th Man—which was displayed prominently on banners at the team’s stadium and establishments around the city. PBTM licensed the mark to the Seahawks to use in the stadium and on jerseys.
