NFL Union Accuses Leaf of Unauthorized Use of Player Attributes

The National Football League Players Association sued Leaf Trading Cards LLC, alleging the collectibles company is using the attributes of multiple football players on its products despite lacking the license to do so.

The association and National Football League Players Inc. are the exclusive licensing agents for NFL players’ attributes—which include their names, images, likenesses—when used in a group of six or more players in a 12-month period, according to the complaint filed May 1 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
