Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Nautica brand, reached an agreement to end New Balance Athletics Inc.'s trademark suit over the block letter ‘N’ used on Nautica footwear and other apparel.
Terms of the agreement weren’t available in public documents. Attorneys for the parties didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
The settlement notice was filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where New Balance alleged that Authentic Brand and subsidiary Nautica Apparel Inc.'s designs infringed its block-N trademarks.
Nautica also allegedly infringed a New Balance shoe design patent, according to the August complaint.
