Network-1 Taps $187-Million Patent, Dead Two Years, in New Suits

Network-1 Technologies Inc. filed four lawsuits alleging that Arista Networks, Fortinet, Honeywell, and Ubiquiti infringed a since-expired patent for remotely powering network-connected devices using Ethernet cables that has generated more than $187 million in licensing revenue.

The complaint against Arista Networks Inc.—like those against Fortinet Inc., Honeywell International Inc., and Ubiquiti Inc.—was filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
