NetScout Systems Inc. convinced an Eastern District of Texas jury its intrusion and protection systems don’t infringe a licensing company’s patent related to cybersecurity technology.
Longhorn HD LLC owns U.S. Patent No. 7,260,846, covering a system for detecting network intrusions. A jury found various NetScout systems, including Arbor Threat Mitigation System and Arbor Edge Defense, don’t infringe the patent.
Trial started Monday in a courtroom in Marshall, Texas.
NetScout was one of several companies that Longhorn, a privately owned patent licensing company, has sued in cases involving the patent. The others have been resolved, according to court documents.
