Netlist, Samsung Add New Memory Patent to Expansive Legal Fight

Netlist Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. built on their years-long legal fight over chip technology with a pair of competing lawsuits in federal courts concerning a newly issued memory patent.

Netlist accused Samsung of infringing US Patent No. 12,308,087, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Netlist said the electronics giant used similar methods for computer memory technology in products with “stacked array dies and reduced driver load.”

Netlist’s suit was filed a day before the US Patent and Trademark Office’s on Tuesday approved the ‘087 patent.
