Netlist Announces Patent-License Jury Trial Win Over Samsung

A California federal jury found Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. breached an agreement to supply memory products to Netlist Inc. in exchange for licenses to its chip memory patents, Netlist announced.

The jury concluded Samsung breached the pact and therefore doesn’t have a license to Netlist’s patent portfolio, according to a Netlist press release published Tuesday about the case in the US District Court for the Central District of California. It’s the latest in a sprawling, cross-country legal battle between the companies that’s resulted in patent-infringement verdicts in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
