Netflix’s ‘Tiger King’ Took From Hollywood Weekly, Suit Says (1)

Netflix Inc.‘s hit series “Tiger King” cribbed content and copied the title of Hollywood Weekly’s exposes on the docuseries’ subject, known as Joe Exotic, the publication alleged in a trademark and copyright lawsuit filed Friday in California federal court.

Hollywood Weekly Magazine LLC accused Netflix of disregarding its rights to the Tiger King trademark and said it “harvested” excerpts for use in the series, according to the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
