Netflix Urges Court to Hold Litigation Funder in Contempt (2)

Netflix Corp. is seeking sanctions against a Northern Virginia litigation funder, the latest escalation in the streamer’s three-plus-year battle over what it describes as a frivolous patent litigation campaign.

Netflix said patent litigation funder AiPi LLC failed to comply with a subpoena seeking information about its connection to a 2021 patent-infringement suit by Lauri Valjakka, defying a federal judge’s ruling a month earlier, in a scathing motion filed Jan. 17 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
