Netflix Sued Over Offline Viewing Feature

Netflix Inc. is being sued for patent infringement over a feature that allows its subscribers to download videos to watch offline (Blackbird Tech LLC v. Netflix, Inc., D. Del., No. 1:17-cv-00100, complaint filed 2/1/17).

Blackbird Tech LLC, a patent licensing company started by two former patent partners from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP, filed its complaint Feb. 1 at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
