Netflix Sued For Copyright Infringement Over ‘The Puppet Master’

An Arizona man has sued Netflix Inc. and the producer of a docuseries on its platform Raw TV LTD for copyright infringement over the allegedly unauthorized use of a photograph in the 2022 miniseries “The Puppet Master.”

John Adams alleged his daughter was a victim of the man dubbed “The Puppet Master,” according to the complaint. Adams had taken a photo of the man and his daughter while they were in a romantic relationship before she was kidnapped and money was extorted from her parents.

Adams asserts copyright infringement, contributory infringement and misappropriation claims.
