Netflix Sued by Tattoo Artist Over Clip of ‘Tiger King’ Piece

Netflix Inc. and the production company behind the documentary series “Tiger King” are facing a copyright lawsuit for allegedly showing a three-second clip of a tattoo depicting the series’ central character Joe Exotic without the artist’s permission.

The tattoo, which was created by Molly Cramer to raise money for her tattoo parlor during the pandemic, depicts the face of Joe Exotic—whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage—along with a can of Lysol, Covid-19 viruses, and a “Quarantine 2020" banner.
