Netflix Servers Found to be Business Place In Texas Patent Suit

Netflix Inc. should have to face a patent lawsuit from Broadcom’s CA Inc. in a Texas federal court, a magistrate judge recommended after finding the streaming service has a regular place of business there.

Magistrate Judge Roy Payne in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said Netflix servers are a place of business in the district, and the company has partnered with internet service providers that act as Netflix’s agents. Payne recommended Netflix’s motion to dismiss for improper venue be denied.
