Netflix Seeks Sanctions Against Texas IP Firm in Patent Dispute

Netflix Inc. told a California federal judge the former attorney of a Finnish inventor violated a protective order in a patent-infringement suit by giving the entertainment company’s confidential information to a litigation funder.

Bill Ramey and his Texas-based firm Ramey LLP disclosed Netflix’s confidential information, including financial records and source code, to litigation funder AiPi LLC, Netflix said in a motion for sanctions filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
