AiPi LLC convinced a court Friday to quash Netflix Inc.‘s subpoena seeking documents that might show how the litigation funder controlled proceeds from a Finnish businessman’s patent litigation campaign.

Some of Lauri Valjakka’s lawsuits, which he began filing against a wide array of tech companies in late 2021, ended quickly. His suit against Netflix, however, was a more protracted battle, and the tech company ultimately convinced the a Northern California federal court that Valjakka didn’t own the patents he was asserting.
