Nespresso asked the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to review three patents after being sued by Kruger GmbH & Co. KG unit K-fee System. Nespresso argued the patents are invalid because they cover obvious inventions.
The PTAB denied review in decisions Tuesday, saying Nespresso’s invalidity arguments raised largely the same issues that a patent office examiner considered before allowing the patents to issue.
