Neonode Patent Withstands Challenge From Samsung and Apple (1)

Neonode defeated an effort by Samsung Electronics Co. and Apple Inc. to have one of its mobile user interface patents declared invalid by an administrative tribunal.

The company, a subsidiary of Aequitas Technologies LLC, sued the two tech giants in 2020 for patent infringement, prompting them to challenge the validity of the Neonode patent at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. The lawsuits claim infringement of US Patent Nos. 8,095,879, and 8,812,993, which describe touch-screen technology for handheld computer devices.
