Neonode Loses Texas Touchscreen Patent Suit Targeting Samsung

Samsung Electronics Co. successfully fended off a lawsuit accusing the tech company of infringing phone touchscreen patents.

On Wednesday, Judge Alan D. Albright of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas entered judgment for Samsung and against patent owner Neonode Smartphone LLC, based on an earlier finding that one of the patents relied on an indefinite term.

Neonode sued Samsung and Apple Inc. in 2020 alleging that the smartphone makers willfully infringed two of its touchscreen patents—US Patent Nos. 8,095,879 and 8,812,993.
