NCR Denied in Bid for New Trial After $13.2 Million Patent Loss

NCR Corp. failed to convince a judge it deserves a new trial after a federal jury awarded CloudOfChange LLC $13.2 million for NCR’s infringement of two business-system patents.

Judge Alan D. Albright denied NCR’s bid for a new trial and rejected its motion for judgments of no infringement, invalidity, no willfulness, and either no damages or reduced damages, according to an opinion issued Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
