NBA Properties Inc.'s win in a lawsuit against a China-based online retailer that sold counterfeit NBA branded clothing was upheld by the Seventh Circuit, which found the defendant was subject to an Illinois federal court’s jurisdiction.
HANWJH, which allegedly sold counterfeit products on an Amazon storefront, had established sufficient contacts in Illinois to be subject by purposefully directing its business to the state through online ordering, the appeals court said.
