A Texas-based stock exchange set to launch next year asked a federal judge to rule that its name, “TXSE,” doesn’t infringe the Toronto Stock Exchange’s “TSX” trademarks.
TXSE Group Inc. filed its application with the US Patent and Trademark Office in May 2023, but the Toronto exchange—TSX Inc.—waited till September to send a cease-and-desist letter to derail its launch, according to the complaint seeking declaratory judgment brought Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
