Motorola Settles Software Patent Lawsuit Days Before Trial

Seven Networks LLC and Motorola Mobility LLC settled a lawsuit the week before a Texas federal jury was set to hear patent infringement allegations involving smartphone software.

Chief Judge David Godbey vacated the Aug. 12 trial date after the parties announced the case was resolved, according to an order filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The parties notified the court Aug. 5 in a joint motion to stay that they “settled in principle.”
