Motley Fool Sues Crypto Fools for Trademark Infringement

Motley Fool Holdings Inc. said in a new lawsuit that a California company, Crypto Fools LLC, uses knockoff trademarks “virtually identical” to those held by Motley Fool, a longtime provider of online financial services and newsletters.

Crypto Fools and its co-founder Douglas Shultz, also named a defendant in the lawsuit, directly compete with Motley Fool, which has a premium subscription service dedicated to identifying and analyzing cryptocurrency opportunities, according to a complaint filed April 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
