Monster Energy Says MonsterZ Mimics Motorsports Promo Trademarks

Energy drink company Monster Energy Co. sued the vehicle market research company MonsterZ LLC for infringing its trademarks by using them on off-road vehicles.

MonsterZ uses a name and often a black and green color scheme in ways that likely would lead consumers to wrongly perceive an affiliation with Monster Energy, the drink-maker argued in its complaint to the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. MonsterZ often uses those infringing marks on sports vehicles used in competitions similar to ones sponsored by Monster Energy, according to the suit filed Monday.
