Minnesota Settles Decade-Old Patent Suits with Wireless Carriers

The University of Minnesota settled long-running lawsuits accusing subsidiaries of wireless carriers AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc., Sprint Corp., and Deutsche Telekom AG of infringing patents covering data-transmission technology, court filings show.

Joint motions to dismiss filed by the university, each wireless carrier, and base-station suppliers Ericsson Inc. and Nokia of America Corp. were granted Wednesday in orders by Judge John R.
