More Lawyers Ordered to Account for Fake Quotes in Patent Suit

A Pennsylvania federal judge slammed lawyers for patent suit defendant Minleon International (USA) Ltd. for inserting fake quotes into a “sloppy and, at worst, fraudulent” brief, and asked them why they shouldn’t be sanctioned.

The brief was filed in July in US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania after rival Russel Williams Home Services LLC sought a temporary restraining order to block Minleon’s sales of two types of holiday lighting clips. Russel alleged the products infringe its US Patent No. 12,366,347.

Judge Keli M. Neary sided with Minleon, denying Russel’s request for injunctive relief in Wednesday order. ...
