Chinese medical-device maker Mindray Global used Terason’s patented tablet-based imaging technology in its TE family of portable ultrasound machines without permission after a previous partnership gave it access to designs, a federal lawsuit said.
Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co. Ltd.'s device models infringe five patents covering touchscreen-controlled, battery-powered ultrasound systems, according to a complaint docketed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Terason, formally named Teratech Corp., seeks damages and an order blocking US sales of the accused ultrasound machines until the patents have expired.
