Microsoft Responds to Patentee’s Claims It and Nvidia Colluded

Microsoft Corp. hit back at a patent owners’ charge that it and Nvidia Corp. colluded to tank the price they’d have to pay to license a set of semiconductor patents.

Xockets Inc. accused Microsoft and Nvidia of rebuffing license-negotiation overtures and working instead through risk management firm RPX Corp. as a middleman in a manner that ran afoul of federal antitrust law, in a September lawsuit. Xockets sought a preliminary injunction as part of the suit, which was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
