Microsoft, Lit Funder Hit With Sanctions Bid From Law Firm (1)

Microsoft Corp. and its attorney “gleefully” filed a declaration from a patent owner’s financial backer to defame and harm Ramey LLP, the small Texas law firm told a federal judge.

Ramey founder William P. Ramey III filed a motion for sanctions accusing Microsoft and its attorney Jonathan Lamberson of White & Case LLP of filing a declaration in CTD Network LLC’s dismissed patent suit without investigating its accuracy. Ramey’s July 17 motion comes a month after Microsoft sought sanctions, in attorneys’ fees, against the law firm in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
