Microsoft Hit With Patent Suit Over OneDrive’s File-Sync Tech

Microsoft Corp.’s OneDrive cloud storage service infringes three IDrive Inc. patents protecting how its IDrivesync cloud backup technology synchrozes files, a federal lawsuit said.

OneDrive’s cloud infrastructure and desktop and mobile applications for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android infringe US Patent Nos. 8,620,957, 8,099,520and 8,224,920, Calabasas, Calif.-based IDrive said in a complaint filed Feb. 13 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
