Microsoft Asks for Pause in ParTec’s Supercomputer Patent Suit

Microsoft Corp. urged a Texas federal judge to pause proceedings in German supercomputer maker ParTec AG’s lawsuit while an administrative tribunal considers Microsoft’s challenge to a patent’s validity.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s upcoming decision on US Patent No. 11,537,442, which Microsoft argued is invalid as obvious, will affect all three patents asserted in ParTec’s case, the Redmond, Wash.-based company said in a motion for stay filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
