Micron Suit Expands Memory Patent Fight With Chinese Competitor

Micron Technology Inc. filed a lawsuit seeking a California court’s judgment that its memory products don’t infringe competitor Yangtze Memory Technologies Co.’s eight patents the day after it was sued in Texas for allegedly infringing them.

YMTC has repeatedly made “non-credible” infringement allegations against Micron, the company argued in a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Micron filed the suit the day after the Chinese competitor accused it and distributor Avnet Inc. of infringing the same eight patents with memory products.
