Micron Sued Again by Chinese Competitor in Memory Patent Fight

Chinese manufacturer Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. expanded its litigation fight against competitor Micron Technology Inc., accusing the company and distributor Avnet Inc. of infringing eight patents with NAND and DRAM memory products.

Micron has “lagged behind” YMTC’s technology and is “undermining the incentive to innovate” by infringing the protected inventions, YMTC argued in its complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Micron and Avnet “engaged in widespread and unauthorized use of YMTC’s patented innovations to try to catch up with YMTC,” the patent owner said.
