Micro Focus Loses $172.6 Million Verdict Over Software Patents

Micro Focus and its Seattle SpinCo infringed three patents for performance testing owned by Canada’s Wapp Tech Ltd. and should pay $172.5 million in damages, a federal jury in Sherman, Texas, said Monday.

  • The dispute is over Micro Focus’s LoadRunner software that uses “network virtualization,” which enables users to simulate mobile networks from any geographic location worldwide for mobile application testing, according to the complaint
