Fox Corp. sued Media Deportes Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., accusing it of misappropriating Fox’s intellectual property and interfering with Fox’s business relationships.
MDM previously held a non-exclusive license to use certain Fox Sports trademarks in Mexico, according to the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Fox said it terminated the license in March after MDM failed to pay licensing fees for sporting events it aired, leading to widely reported broadcast interruptions and damaging the goodwill of the Fox Sports marks.
