Meta’s Quest Headset Alleged to Violate Info Display Patent

Meta Platforms Inc. was accused of infringing patented information display technology that lets the company’s Quest virtual reality headset wearers find out more about items and features in interactive video games they’re playing.

New Mexico-based Flick Intelligence LLC sued the parent company of Facebook and Instagram for allegedly violating US Patent No. 9,465,451, which protects what Flick describes as an improved method and computer program for “displaying additional information about a displayed point of interest,” according to a Sept. 7 complaint filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
