Meta Wins Pause of Patent Infringement Lawsuit Over VR Tech

Meta Platforms Inc. convinced a federal judge to stay a lawsuit accusing it of infringing patents for virtual reality technology while a patent office tribunal reviews challenges to the inventions.

The case would be “greatly simplified” if the Patent Trial and Appeal Board institutes Meta’s petitions to invalidate Mullen Industries LLC’s ten asserted patents, Magistrate Judge Susan Hightower said while pausing litigation in an order docketed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.
